“The greatest success we’ll know, is helping others succeed and grow.” Gregory Scott Reid
Success. As business owners, we all talk about it – a lot. What it looks like, how to achieve it, and how we measure up against our competition. Success is defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as:
• the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame
• the correct or desired result of an attempt
• someone or something that is successful : a person or thing that succeeds
But I believe that success is so much more than this. And I believe that it means something different to each and every one of us. I love how success is defined in the quote above as “helping others.” For me personally, this is how I’ve always tried to approach my job (whether it was working for a Fortune 25 company, a privately held organization, or now in my own business) and my life (with my family, my friends, and the world around me). This mindset and approach have helped me to create a great deal of what I would define as “success” in my own life.
When I began getting serious about starting my business last year, I spent a lot of time thinking about what I could do to help others. Sure, I’d always loved photography, but how could I use this passion and skill to truly help other people? As I considered the many different ways I could use my photography, I kept circling back to my other passion – supporting small businesses. And one day, it dawned on me! I could combine the two and truly make a difference.
Running your own business is no easy feat. You’re the CEO, the CFO, the Social Media Manager, the R+D Department, the Customer Service Rep, the thinker, the doer, and everything else in between! Whew – it’s a LOT to handle!! But you already know all of that. In small business, just as in big business, at some point it becomes necessary to outsource or delegate tasks. Whether it’s because the business doesn’t have the capacity to handle a greater work load (that to-do list isn’t getting any shorter!) or simply because it’s not something that the business is skilled or equipped to do (I definitely couldn’t have built this gorgeous website on my own!) – getting help is a necessity…for growth and for sustainability.
In the business sense, I help bold creatives by taking beautiful photos of your product or service, so you can look good online, attract more clients and grow your business, all without losing your mind because you have too much to do. But it’s so much more than even that. I value getting to know you and building a relationship with you, both on a business and personal level. I love learning about what you like and don’t like, and understanding your brand and the message you want to share with your ideal clients from the inside-out. I enjoy the challenge of tying all of these pieces together with creative and unique styling to bring your vision and your brand to life through custom photography. And when the project is finished, I love sharing it all online and supporting your business through my various online platforms, helping you grow your following and finding new clients who love your work and what you do. But what I love most of all, is when you come back and tell me that the photos we created saved you time, lightened your load, gave you peace of mind, were exactly what you needed, and truly made a difference in your business and your life. And that’s how I define success – by helping you to be successful!
